Beirut,
January 11 (RHC) - Hundreds of Lebanese and
Palestinians from different political, social
and religious tendencies demonstrated their
unrestricted support of the Cuban Revolution
during a ceremony organized by the Cuba
Solidarity Organization.
Support
demonstrations with Cuba, including a petition
to end the US blockade on the island, were
echoed at the UNESCO headquarters in Beirut in
response to the call of the Lebanese
Pro-Liberation Committee of the Cuban
Five.
The
Cuban Five, as they are internationally known,
were condemned to harsh sentences ranging from
15 years up to double life terms for having
infiltrated terrorist Florida-based
organizations planning attacks on
Cuba.
On
hand were Lebanese deputies, leaders of
political and religious organizations, including
Lebanese professionals who studied in Cuba on a
scholarships, as well as Cuban citizens living
in the country.
