Twelve days in Cuba - Nineth day

Sunday we carried out a morning tour in Havana. And that was time for prayers in Christian Churches. We entered and we attended a part of the mass, the sermon. The priest freely preached, he talked about certain aspects of public life in the country without objection of whomever. All the Churches were opened, they are numerous, and without disturbation. I noticed that number of streets carry the names of saints with their statuettes in the middle and they are numerous also.

To be mentioned that Christian cemeteries are no more than architectural museums with beautiful sculpture.

We met a Jewish synagogue without being able to enter for it was not the prayer moment, but it is total free function by effect of liberty of worship to all.

This reinforces the liberty of worship in Cuba in accordance with the item 55 of the constitution of Cuba.

Afternoon we had an appointment with a marriage accomplished in family simply and with joy. I met there a person who surprised me. I recognized a specialost in clinic science Dr. Alberto Hernández Rodríguez. I could not imagine how simple and humble he was. I saw him activating his old car with a big difficulty. I said "a person like you should have a better car", his response was quick and instantaneous "why should I be different from others, for what I possess and not for what I give?" We had a short conversation around Cuban inventions and discoveries in the domain of medicine and sciences. I was astonished to know that Cuba realized medical discoveries able to heal diseases that more advanced countries did not reach as the meningitis. All that in spite of the blockade and lack of material.
