Twelve days in Cuba - Sixth day

The following day was not less than the preceding. We began by a visit to the International institute of Press José Marti. A great surprise awaited me there also. I saw the special interest for the press. I was located in a complete institution with a press school provided by the most recent technical means. In addition to a residence building for foreign students financed by President Castro out of the presidential budget after the lack in the institute's budget.

The institute Joé Marti is furnished by all means of comfort and communications, and it prepares to launch its own web site soon. The studies there are totally free and it takes advantage of a total independence to choose its themes of studies based on the subjects of current events, for example the subject of this year is the genetic progression.

The director MR Guillermo Cabrera guided us attended by his second. He attracted my attention by saying that the administration of the country runs through its institutions.

These views would give the more evident expression .

Directly next we went to the press faculty all near, very quick visit because the university year had not begun yet. We only checked the building and consult the number of annual graduated and their direct incorporations in work with no need to look for a job, as should do students almost everywhere else.

Then we went in visit to the Cuban woman magazine "Mujeres". I saw there a true hive of bees in continuous work. I did not see any sign of censure except the professional conscience and the love of the Fatherland. We were guided by the director Ms Isabel Moya Ricardo. We visited all the corners of the magazine where nothing to hide or to be ashamed of. I have concentrated on the department of the annexed web site:

We had there a special and detailed encounter around technical subjects and we had a look on examples of all its editions.

At noon, meeting with the director of the Africa and Middle East section of the institute of friendships with the peoples (ICAP) Luis Morejón Soto. . A widely cultivated person, open minded who accepted my doubts and explained in detail the effect of the economical blockade on Cuba in all the domains and the capacity of Cuba to contain the effects in case its raised immediately: "if the blockade will be lifted you will see what will astonish the world" he said. I noted the truth of these words in the vivacity of the Cuban people and his sincere desire to work. He has insisted also on the importance that Cuba give to its friendships with all the peoples of the globe.

The afternoon we had a part of Cuban traditional recreation with the popular dominoes game. I had the occasion to meet an old fisherman who witnessed the pre-revolution period and praised the accomplishments of this one in comparison with the preceding systems. It was for me the better testimony about the conviction of the Cuban people in his current system.
