Havana, February 18 2003 (AIN).-
The Second Session on the
Joint Commission of the Lebanese and Cuban delegation ended in
Beirut with the signing of bilateral agreements on Cooperation
to fight the use of use of psychotropic substances and illicit
drug traffic.
The
session headed by Ramon Ripoll, vice minister for Foreign
Investment and Economic Collaboration and Bassel Fleyhane,
Economy Minister of Lebanon reached a conclusive accord after
several working journeys of the Cuban delegation with state
and private organizations of that Arab country.
Ripoll and Freyhane agreed to
ascertain both sides have reached stability on the market
exchange and ratified Cuban and Lebanon's solidarity with the
Arab cause and in favor of the Cuban people struggle against
North American blockade that is being suffered by the island
since forty years ago.
Both sides also revised the state
of the art collaboration based on the accords previously
signed in 1999.
Final session led to the signing of
the afore mentioned agreement on cooperation between News
Information Agencies and the signing of an Intention Minute to
promote collaboration between Tropical Medicine Institute,
Pedro Kouri of Cuba and the Main Research Lab Board of the
Lebanese health Ministry.
Two
sides' final accord reflect future plans in every field mainly
in culture, health, education, agriculture, biotechnology,
sports and trade exchange. (Trabajadores)
