Por estos días se cumple el trigésimo aniversario del
encarcelamiento de Samir al Kantar, joven libanés detenido
en una operación contra el agresor israelí. En el marco de
la acción que cada ano realiza la Asociación de Familiares
de Detenidos Libaneses en las cárceles de Israel, fue
convocado el ya histórico sit in frente a la sede de la
Cruz Roja Internacional en Beirut.
La Asociación Libanesa invito a las organizaciones de
solidaridad con Cuba a acompañarlos en la denuncia y, ni
cortos ni perezosos, acudieron a la manifestación el
Presidente de la Asociación de Amistad de Líbano con Cuba,
cro. Maurice Nahra; el Presidente de la Liga de Graduados
Libaneses de Institutos y Universidades de Cuba, Dr. Kassem
Abboud y una representación de los cubanos residentes en
Beirut.
Bassam el Kantar, hermano de Samir, entrego, como cada ano,
al Representante de la Cruz Roja Internacional, la misiva
exigiendo la libertad de Samir y de todos los presos
libaneses y palestinos en cárceles de Israel pero esta vez
agrego a sus palabras algo nuevo que citamos:
“Definitivamente, nuestra lucha por la liberación de
nuestros presos libaneses y palestinos de las prisiones de
Israel, esta vinculada a la de los cubanos por la liberación
de sus Cinco hermanos detenidos injustamente en las cárceles
de Estados Unidos por luchar contra el terrorismo y por eso
hoy participan aquí representantes de las organizaciones de
solidaridad con Cuba y de los cubanos residentes en el
Líbano”
El Presidente de la Asociación de Amistad con Cuba, hizo
entrega al Representante de la Cruz Roja Internacional de
sendas declaraciones de dicha Asociación y de las Ligas de
graduados Libaneses y Palestinos de los Institutos y
Universidades en Cuba, así como de los cubanos residentes,
exigiendo la libertad de los Cinco.
Los cubanos residentes en Líbano, en su declaración exigen
que el Departamento de Estado otorgue visados para que
Adriana y Olga, esposas de Gerardo y Rene, puedan visitar a
sus esposos a quienes no ven desde que fueron encarcelados
hace casi diez anos.
Los manifestantes portaban carteles con fotos de los Cinco.

La Asociación de Amistad Líbano-Cuba, le saluda cordialmente
y le ruega haga llegar al Presidente de la Cruz Roja
Internacional el siguiente mensaje:
Nuestra Asociación sabe que desde hace varios anos hay cinco
cubanos detenidos en las cárceles de EE.UU., ellos son:
Antonio Guerrero, ingeniero; Ramón Labañino, graduado en
Ciencias Económicas, René González, piloto, Fernando
González y Gerardo Hernández, graduados del Instituto
Superior de Relaciones Internacionales.
Después de conocer las causas y circunstancias de su
detención, quedó clara la injusticia que cometen
manteniéndolos encarcelados, porque no han cometido ningún
delito o acto terrorista contra Estados Unidos, y lo que
hacían en Miami, era seguir las actividades de grupos de
algunos sectores de la inmigración cubana en esa ciudad,
que planifican y realizan operaciones terroristas y
delictivas contra Cuba, que han provocado la caída de
cientos de victimas del pueblo cubano y de un turista
extranjero, además de cuantiosas pérdidas materiales.
Por tanto, partiendo del hecho de que el papel de estos
jóvenes estaba dirigido a proteger la seguridad de sus
compatriotas y de su país contra el terrorismo y la
delincuencia, denunciamos la decisión de mantenerlos en la
cárcel, y , nosotros que sufrimos la privación de libertad
de nuestros compatriotas libaneses en las cárceles israelíes,
le instamos a interceder para que los Cinco retornen a sus
hogares en su patria, con sus hijos y familiares, según
establece la Declaración Internacional de Derechos Humanos.

On this day marks the thirtieth anniversary of the
imprisonment of Samir al Kantar, a young Lebanese arrested
in an operation against the Israeli aggressor. The historic
sit in was summoned under the action that each year makes
the Associations of Relatives of Lebanese Detainees in
Prisons in Israel, in front of the headquarters of the
International Red Cross in Beirut.
This time, the Lebanese Association invited organizations of
solidarity with Cuba to accompany them in the complaint, and
neither short nor lazy, attended the event the President of
the Lebanese Association of Friendship with Cuba, Mr.
Maurice Nahra; the President of the League of Lebanese
Graduates from Cuban Institutes and Universities, Dr. Kassem
Abboud, and a representation of Cubans residing in Beirut.
As every year, Bassam al Kantar, brother of Samir, delivered
to the Representative of the International Red Cross, the
letter demanding the release of Samir and all Lebanese and
Palestinian prisoners in Israel jails, but this time he add
something new which we quote: "Definitely, our struggle for
liberation of our Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners in
Israel jails is linked to that of Cuban people carry out
for the liberation of their Five brothers unjustly detained
in U.S. prisons for combating terrorism and therefore here
today we have representatives of organizations of solidarity
with Cuba and Cubans residing in Lebanon "
The President of the Association of Friendship with Cuba,
hand ed the Representative of the International Red Cross
statements by that Association and the League of Lebanese
and the President of the Association of Friendship with
Cuba, handed the Representative of the International Red
Cross statements by that association and the League of
Lebanese and Palestinian graduates of Cuban Institutes and
Universities and the Cuban residents, demanding freedom for
the Five.
Cubans residing in Lebanon, in his statement demanding that
the State Department granted visas to Adriana and Olga,
wives of Gerardo and Rene, for them could visit their
husbands who do not see since they were imprisoned for
nearly ten years.
Demonstrators carried placards with pictures of the Cuban
Five.

President of the International Red Cross in Lebanon.
The
Lebanese/Cuban Friendship Association greets you warmly and
asked you to convey to the President of the International
Red Cross the following message:
Our members know that for many years there are five Cubans
detained in U.S. prisons, they are: Antonio Guerrero,
engineer; Ramón Labañino, a graduate in economics, Rene
Gonzalez, pilot, Fernando Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez,
graduates from the Higher Institute of International
Relations.
After knowing the causes and circumstances of their arrest,
it became clear the injustice committed keeping them in
prison, because they have not committed any crime or
terrorist act against the United States, and what they were
doing in Miami, was to further the activities of groups of
some sectors of Cuban immigration in that city, who plan and
carry out criminal and terrorist operations against Cuba,
which have caused the death of hundreds of victims of the
Cuban people and a foreign tourist, as well as substantial
material losses.
Therefore, based on the fact that the role of these young
people was aimed at protecting the security of their
compatriots and their country against terrorism and crime,
we denounce the decision to keep them in jail and us who
suffer deprivation of freedom of our Lebanese brothers in
Israeli jails, we urge you to intercede so that the five
return to their homes in their homeland, with their
children and families, subsequently ascertain the
International Declaration of Human Rights

Ces jours ci, on arrive au XXXème. Anniversaire de
l’emprisonnement de Samir el Kantar, un jeune libanais
arrête au cours d’une opération contre l’agresseur
israélien. Dans le cadre de l’action que chaque année
réalise l’ Association des Parents des Détenus Libanais au
Prisons d’ Israël ils ont convoque le sit in historique
devant la siège de la Croix Rouge Internationale a Beyrouth.
L’ Association Libanaise a invite les organisations de
solidarité avec Cuba a leurs joindre et ils ont allés au
rendez vous ayant a la tête le Président de l’ Association
d’ Amitié du Liban avec Cuba, M. Maurice Nahra ; le
Président de la Ligue des Diplômes Libanais aux Instituts et
Universités Cubaines, Dr. Kassem Abboud et une
représentation des cubains résidents a Beyrouth.
Comme chaqun, Bassam el Kantar, frère de Samir, a remis
au Représentant de la Croix Rouge Internationale, une
déclaration demandant la libération de Samir ainsi que des
prisonniers libanais et palestiniens aux prisons d’Israël
mais cette fois ci il a ajoute une nouveauté a ces paroles
dont je cite : « Notre lutte pour la libération des
détenus libanais et palestiniens des prisons d’ Israël est
d’ors en avant, définitivement liée a la lutte du peuple
cubain pour la libération de leurs cinq frères qui ont été
arrêtes injustement dans les prisons des Etats-Unis pour
lutter contre le terrorisme et c’ est pour cela qu’aujourd
hui sont avec nous des représentants des organisations de
solidarité avec Cuba et des cubains résidants au Liban »
Le Président de l’Association d’ Amitié du Liban avec Cuba
a remis au Représentant de la Croix Rouge Internationale des
déclarations de cette Association et des Ligues des Diplômés
Libanais et Palestiniens des Instituts et des Universités
Cubaines, ainsi qu’une lettre des cubains résidents au
Liban exigeant la libération des Cinq.
Dansa sa lette, les cubains résidents au Liban, ont exige
aussi que le Département d’Etat nord-américain octroi des
visas a Adriana et Olga, les épouses de Gerardo et René,
pour qu’ elles puisse leur rendre visite, parce que depuis
leur emprisonnement de près de dix ans , elles n’ont jamais
pu rencontrer leurs époux.
Les manifestants portaient des affiches avec des photos des
Cinq.
