Washington,
Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition
and the Pro-Five Committee announced on Sunday
they will redouble activities in US to spread
the truth on five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters
unfairly imprisoned in that northern nation.
According to A.N.S.W.E.R., thousands of
people are expected to march in front of the
Pentagon on Saturday, March 17, to demand the
end of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the
closure of the US jail located in the illegal
naval base in Guantanamo, Cuba.
Participants in the rally will also request
US authorities more funds and social capitals
for works, houses and education, instead of
financing the national war machinery, the source
stated.
The Cuban Five, as Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio
Guerrero, Ramon Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez and
Rene Gonzalez are universally known, were
detained on September 12, 1998 in Miami, and
convicted and sentenced in a rigged trial in
Miami to harsh sentences ranging from 15 years
to double life terms.
Their real crime was gathering information
about terrorist plots by anti-Cuban
organizations in Miami, Florida, in an effort to
prevent the deaths of Cuban and even United
States citizens.
