Auckland,
Sep 3 (Prensa Latina) New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister Jim
Anderton committed to intervene with US officials on behalf
of the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly imprisoned in the
United States for ten years now.
Prensa
Latina reported Anderton, also leader of the Progressive
Party of New Zealand, made the solidarity offering during an
interview with Cuban ambassador Jose Luis Robaina.
Robaina
explained the characteristics of the case and the human and
legal transgressions the Five have been subjected to.
"Washington only aims at punishing the Cuban people because
of its unbreakable will to defend its independence and
sovereignty", said Robaina.
The Cuban
ambassador said that while US officials show the five Cuban
antiterrorists no mercy, they also protect self-confessed
terrorists and criminals like Luis Posada Carriles and
Orlando Bosch.
Robaina
also explained New Zealand deputy Prime Minister that
Carriles and Bosch are held responsible for the blowing-up
of a Cubana de Aviacion airplane flying with 73 passengers.
