 Palestine special envoy visits Cuba

Havana, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) The member of the Executive Committee of the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine (OLP) Saleh Raafat is visiting Cuba this Saturday as special envoy of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

 

   According to Granma daily report, the also general secretary of the Palestine Democratic Union Party carried a message from Abbas to President Fidel Castro and First Vice President Raul Castro.

 

   Representing the president of Palestine National Authority and President of OLP Executive Committee, Raafat has already held talks with Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque to whom he gave the document addressed to Cuban dignitary.

 

   The version itself said that he met a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committed of the Cuban Communist Party Fernando Remirez de Estenoz.

 

   He also held a fruitful exchange of opinions on bilateral relations, the struggle of the Palestinian people for their right to have their own State and mainly other regional and international issues of mutual interest, noted Granma.

 

   The visit "has allowed reiterating invariable solidarity and support of the Cuban Revolution to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and Arabs too," added the communique.

 

   Cuba has also ratified its commitment to continue working, leading the Non Aligned Movement (NOAL), in favor of the Palestinian people's cause.
