AND HOW IS
CUBA?
Cuba is paradise, as Antonio
Nuñez Jiménez, Cuban geographer and historian states in a wonderful comparison.
He says that “seen from the air, very high, in the kingdom of clouds and blue
sky, Cuba has, as a whole, one fine, enlarged and graceful figure, one peculiar
shape that has been for centuries compared to an alligator, which is the most
common nickname of the country. The green image of the Cuban archipelago from
the cosmic heights has a lot to do with its extraordinary natural conditions,
which makes it a modern version of the mythical earthly paradise”.
Its geographical location
places Cuba just where there is not excessive heat or cold, constantly exposed
to the freshness of the sea and land breezes. These winds that bathe us keep a
particularly clean atmosphere, mainly for those people who come from highly
populated regions of the world, with high levels of urban pollution. The warm
sea tides keep waters renewed, which bring a unique transparence and
cleanliness, ideal for underwater pleasures in an environment of incredible sea
depth beauty.
Cuba
as a nation emerged from a great diversity: its aborigines, the Spanish
colonizers that arrived to its coasts and the black slaves forcedly brought from
the African continent. Later on, the Chinese arrived and also the Haitian, Arabs
and Jews and many others in small communities. All this brought about a
particular racial mixture that has its own culture characterized by its own
cultural characterized by its integrating orientation and its universal
vocation.
Cubans are, in short
synthesis, people with nice character, lovers, poets, dreamers, talkative,
polite, with splendid and gentile smiles, gallant and make the worries of others
their own. You could find many other attributions but you can be sure of one
thing: the treasure of Cuba is its people, as many persons, from other
countries, who know us, always state.
